The air cooler, referred to as the air cooler, is a cooling device developed in the 1940s that uses air to cool the fluid in the tube.

At present, it has basically replaced the water cooler.

The advantages are: saving water, reducing water pollution, and low investment and maintenance costs.

The main components of the air cooler: tube bundle, frame, fan, shutters.

Structure type of air cooler:

1. Flat-top air cooler: the tube bundle is placed horizontally, mostly used for condensation and cooling.

Blast type: the tube bundle is located above the fan, and the fan blows air from bottom to top.

Induced air type: the tube bundle is located under the fan, and the fan blows air from the inside to the outside.

Features: less affected by the climate, hot air is not easy to flow back, and the noise is low.

However, the structure is impetuous and maintenance is troublesome.

2. Co-top air cooler: the tube bundle is placed on the top of the frame at 45 degrees, and is mostly used for the condensation of the medium.

Features: small footprint, better pipe resistance and film heat release coefficient than horizontal type.

But hot air is easy to flow back. complex structure.

3. Wet air cooler: the tube bundle is placed vertically, water is sprayed outside, and the air is induced.

The medium inlet temperature is not easy to exceed 80 degrees.

Features: Humidification and cooling, the effect is remarkable, the tube bundle is corroded, and the cost is high.

4. Dry and wet combined air cooler: small footprint, low investment, low operating costs, and the area of the tube bundle must be properly matched.

5. Hot air circulating air cooler: It is used when the cooled medium is prone to condensation or crystallization at the lowest design temperature.

It can be divided into: hot air internal circulation air cooler and hot air external circulation air cooler.

Features: It uses its own heat source and requires a high level of self-control.

6. Other special-purpose air coolers: a. Self-confessed ventilated air coolers use natural convection for air cooling, low energy consumption and maintenance costs, and high primary investment.

b, The light tube air cooler has the same structure as the flat top air cooler, the difference is that the heat transfer tube has no fins.

Basic components of an air cooler:

1. Tube bundle Composed of finned tubes, tube boxes, measuring beams and support beams, it is the heat transfer part of the air cooler.

2. Composition of finned tubes: composed of base tubes and fins.

Types: Wound sheet tube, Rolled sheet tube, Sleeve sheet tube, Insert sheet tube, Welded sheet tube.

3. The function of the tube box is to combine the single finned tubes into an aggregate to distribute and guide the fluid.

Each tube bundle has at least two tube boxes.

4. Classification of pipe boxes, plug-type pipe boxes, flange-type pipe boxes, collection pipe-type pipe boxes, and disassembled-type pipe boxes.

5. The connection method of finned tube and tube sheet: strength expansion joint, strength welding, and expansion welding.
