In the latest years studded tubes have been the subject of a research by our technical staff.

The production process developed by our partners is able to combine any material for studs and tubes(carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys) with a subsequent stress relieving heat treatment, if requested.

These tubes are used as an alternative to finned tubes in heat exchangers mainly in the petrochemical industry where the surface is exposed to particular corrosion and aggression by gasses and vapors.

Application: Steel studded tubes are used instead of finned tubes for heat transfer in the petrochemical industry, generally in furnaces and boilers where the surface is exposed to a very corrosive environment and where very dirty gas streams require frequent or aggressive cleaning.
Size:  OD: 38 mm ~219 mm
 WT: 4.0 mm ~20 mm /Tube Length (Mtr) :≤ 15Mtrs
 Fin Height: 6.0 mm ~ 38 mm
Base Tube(fin) Material: Carbon Steel
 Alloy Steel
Stainless Steel

The welding process enables the combination of any grades for studs and tube: carbon, alloy, stainless steels and high nickel alloys.

Alloy steel pipes are stress-relieved after studding, according to the relevant specifications for the class and grade of steel used.

Features of a Studded Tube

  • It occupies less space and is, therefore, compact.
  • Highly durable.
  • Preferred over Finned tubes as they act as heat transfer systems.
  • Enhanced performance
